    The Bennett Group is a family business, and every decision leading to its formation was rooted in the importance of family. When deciding what profession in which to launch his second career, Craig decided on real estate. The flexible schedule meant he never missed a game or regatta for either of his children. From the beginning, real estate has been a business that revolved around family, and Craig operates this business with the belief that customers are family too.

    Once Craig and Mary’s children were off to college, Mary began helping Craig full-time, and together they grew the business to new heights. Mary’s licensing in 2010 was the real start of The Bennett Group, even though the name would not come about for a few more years. After college, both young adults, returned home and Cody joined the family business. Mary is still very much involved in the business though she is rarely in the office these days. Craig spent a great deal of time teaching Cody the ins and outs of real estate and they have joined several different coaching and marketing firms to further Cody’s real estate understanding. They have sifted through all of this information and distilled what they believe to be the most effective combination of marketing tools both in print and online to provide the greatest exposure possible for the homes they represent. 

    Their slogan, Helping You Create Lasting Memories, came about when Craig was trying to define why he enjoys real estate so much. It afforded him the freedom to spend time with his family and friends creating wonderful memories. Many former customers are good friends, and the Bennett’s continue to make lasting memories through the business. Megan, while not selling real estate, certainly understands and values helping others, which is part of why she enjoys her career at the YMCA so much. This endeavor became a passion the whole family shares because it gives them the opportunity to introduce people to the bright and vibrant place which they call home. We get to make memories helping others experience and share our hometown, so that they can make memories of their own in this truly unique coastal community.

    Cody grew up on Amelia Island hearing the siren call of the ocean throughout his youth. After high school he went on to college at Auburn University, but always felt something was missing. Don’t get me wrong he loved Auburn and thoroughly enjoyed his time there, pursuing an Aerospace Engineering degree. Auburn, known as “The Loveliest Village on the Plains,” and the Tigers who roam there, are another of his passions. Ultimately, the siren call of the ocean was too strong and he returned home to the smell of the salt air and the warmth of the Florida sun. Not surprisingly, his favorite hobby is scuba diving and he holds the Dive Control Specialist certification from SSI. Cody is also an avid outdoorsman and when not exploring the ocean’s depths, he can be found on a gun range training, or in the woods hunting. So how does one go from engineering, diving, and hunting to real estate? Introducing people to wonders of Amelia Island and helping position them to fall in love with the ocean as Cody has, is the family business. He followed his parents into real estate, and brought with him his fierce tenacity for all he pursues. His knowledge of the island, ability to listen to people, and drive for excellence make him a natural at finding the perfect home, or get away for those with whom he conducts business.     Craig Bennett, Top Producing Agent/Broker Associate on Amelia Island. For local businessman Craig Bennett, Amelia Island is a place where memories are made. A native of South Georgia, Craig has been a regular visitor to the Island since he was a teenager. The draw of the ocean breezes, abundant wildlife, sandy beaches and friendly neighbors enticed Mr. Bennett enough to permanently call Amelia Island home. After fifteen successful years as an IBM executive, Craig decided to make a career change in 1998. He took this opportunity to utilize his client relationship skills gained at IBM and apply them to the real estate industry.     About Mary Bennett Real Estate Professional in Amelia Island, FL Mary was raised on a farm in Indiana. She attended Indiana State University where she studied Business Administration and Computer Science. Mary moved to Georgia in 1982 and lived in Atlanta until 1998 when she moved to Amelia Island with her husband, Craig, and two children, Cody and Megan. Mary has been assisting Craig with his real estate business since 1998. After their kids graduated from Bolles in Jacksonville, Mary became a licensed real estate agent and continues to work with Craig in the Amelia office.
